Step Into Highland History: Inverness Castle Experience Opens Summer 2025

In the heart of Inverness, perched above the River Ness, a historic landmark is being reimagined. After years of restoration and anticipation, Inverness Castle is opening its gates in a brand new way — and it’s something you won’t want to miss.

Launching Summer 2025, the Inverness Castle Experience offers visitors a deep and beautifully curated journey into Highland culture, history, and legend. It’s more than a museum — it’s an immersive celebration of the Highlands themselves.

A Castle with Stories to Tell

For centuries, Inverness Castle has watched over the city — once a royal stronghold, later a courthouse, and now, reborn as a modern cultural destination.

The new experience brings the castle’s layered past to life through interactive exhibits, storytelling spaces, and panoramic viewing platforms with sweeping views of the Highland landscape. You’ll walk where kings once walked, discover ancient artefacts, and explore how the Highlands evolved — from clan histories to contemporary voices.

It’s a powerful blend of past and present, perfectly placed in the capital of the north.

About Us

Gunta Freidenfelde and Michael Mackenzie
It all started at Beechwood Lodge. Back in 2017 I had the opportunity to rent a 5 bedroom B&B, which we ran for almost 10 years before turning it into a self-catering holiday home. We now manage mutliple properties around the Highlands focusing on providing cosy, comfortable and high quality stays.
